The Annual Taste of Vermont Reception Showcases Some of the Best Specialty Foods and Beverages the Green Mountain State Has to Offer.
Over 50 of Vermont’s finest specialty food and beverage producers filled the historic Kennedy Caucus Room of the Russel Senate Building for the 14th annual Taste of Vermont Reception on Thursday, May 9th, 2019. U.S. Senators, Representatives, federal government officials, and Vermont government officials were in attendance and able to sample a wide variety of Vermont made products. For many, it was a little taste of home and a reminder of how important agriculture and artisan food production is to our small state.
This year Sam Cutting IV, President and Owner; Nancy Cutting, Co-Owner; Katie Cutting, Corporate Sales Specialist and 3rd generation; and Emily Lopuski, Marketing Manager were in attendance to represent both Dakin Farm as well as our valued partner, Cabot Creamery Co-operative. Dakin Farm featured our famous Cob-Smoked, Maple-Glazed and Spiral-Sliced Ham, three flavors of farmhouse crackers, and two of our maple mustards. Cabot Creamery provided their always popular Jalapeno Cheddar Mac and Cheese made with both Cabot Seriously Sharp Cheddar and Cabot Private Stock Founders’ Cheddar and yes… it is seriously delicious!
What could be better comfort food than ham and cheese? It’s a Vermont taste tradition.
This event is a great opportunity to catch up with other producers from across the state, meet policymakers from federal agencies, and to gain exposure outside of Vermont. We are very grateful to Senator Leahy (D-VT) for putting this event together 14 years ago, giving local producers the opportunity to showcase their very best and continuing the tradition ever since.
